The new student wellbeing centre is a designated space for students to see the Student Wellbeing Coordinator, school nurse, school mental health practitioner, visiting psychologists and other professionals, attend wellbeing programs and group sessions if distressed, remove themselves from the public arena for a period of time to be in safe, supervised environment.

 

There are the following specific spaces within the wellbeing centre:

 

  • Wellbeing Coordinator office: Ms Kyla's office is at the front of the bulding and as Student Wellbeing Coordinator, she oversees the building. All students report to Ms Kyla on arrival and can wait in the main meeting room.
  •  
  • The Nurse/Mental Health Practitioner’s office will provide a space for the school nurse, Mental Health Practitioner and visiting professionals to undertake counselling and other wellbeing activities.
  •  
  • The wellbeing centre classroom provides a space for wellbeing programs and lunch time/after school activities. The classroom will also serve as an additional teaching space for school-wide programs as needed.
  •  
  • The meeting room provides a space for staff and students to engage in meetings. The kitchenette will provide staff and students with basic amenities to store and heat up food.
  •  
  • An addtional counselling room provides a break out space for students with intellectual disabilities and those that are experiencing mental health issues. This space will allow privacy and a safe space to work through wellbeing issues.
